Kelly Reichardt (b. 1982) is a West Auckland artist completing a Diploma in Art and Creativity at The Learning Connexion, and the recipient of the Oriel Hoskin Scholarship for 2017, 2018 and 2019. Her preferred mediums are creative photography (using both DSLR and cellphone cameras) and watercolour painting.
A survivor of historic and recent sexual assault, she has Disassociation Disorder and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and uses artistic expression to make sense of her emotions. A strong realism permeates her work and themes of beauty and nature are regularly featured.
As well as her interest in art, Kelly is an active member of the West Auckland community and a participant of The Friends of Waikumete Cemetery.
